Murder Mystery Formats

There are many ways an event can run. For private events we often have guests playing suspects in the story, or we can go with a story based largely around solving clues and puzzles to determine the guilty party. This latter clue-based approach also works well for corporate groups, team-building events and also for children's parties and schools.

For events in pubs, restaurants, hotels etc, where the public are invited, we usually provide a full team of actors to interact with the guests, often over a meal. There is plenty more information on the website about how each of these formats usually work, but below are listed some of the formats with links to the existing plots suited to these formats.

  Performed (public) plots

Stories with 3-8 roles, usually performed by Murder to Measure performers, perhaps supplemented by volunteers

  Online plots

New for 2020. Live, interactive murder mysteries scheduled to run online via the Zoom platform

  Plots for teenagers

Mysteries with themes particularly suitable for young adults. Many adult plots would also be suitable.

  Plots for schools

Murder mysteries for schools, colleges and youth groups, usually with clue-solving.

  Plots for large private groups

Mysteries with typically 6-20 roles, usually performed by the party guests.

  Plots for kids' parties

Plots for younger guests, usually clue-based, with some performance.

  Plots for corporate groups

Clue-solving and team- building scenarios suitable for business events.
