An historical Tudor murder mystery

This scenario was first performed in 2008 for a private party, and then completely revised for our own performers at a wedding in April 2009. Some roles were played by party guests, and more roles can be added if required.

Synopsis

terrible tudors

It is 1566, and guests are celebrating the marriage of Lord Edmund Black and Lady Jane Black at their splendid home.

To help with the revels, they have enlisted the services of Sir Kit Braker, the master of the queen's music and his troupe of musicians, but unfortunately their horse-cart was set upon by a gang of brigands, and several of the instruments were stolen, leaving 4 musicians with time on their hands.

To further celebrate the wedding nuptials, Lord Edmund has given Lady Jane a valuable ruby brooch from India, which she hopes to show to Queen Elizabeth herself when she visits next weekend.

Participants

6 participants scripted, but other roles can easily be added or removed.

Structure

Staged with party guests around a typical wedding scenario, with period songs and music if required. Note that costumes have to be hired for this storyline, which may incur an additional charge, but setting it in a different era is possible.

Death(s) occurred in full view of the guests.

Complexity

Medium - the emphasis remains on fun rather than hard sleuthing.

Age rating

PG - there is a death and some raised voices, but no adult themes.
