Captain Abel Stable was proud to welcome passengers aboard for the maiden voyage of the luxury cruise liner The Caribbean Queen bound for a spectacular voyage to the USA and the West Indies. What he hadn't bargained on, however, was the rather poor build-standard of much of the ship and soon passengers and crew alike are getting frustrated by the conditions.
Among his concerns are a demanding film actress, her temperamental director/husband and a gentleman of German extraction who appears to be taking an unhealthy interest in both of them. The crew aren't much help either, and the ship's chief engineer keeps insisting that "she cannae handle it, captain!"
This is a fun-filled story with more murders than would seem possible with a small cast and there is plenty of scope to make this a period piece or set it on any other type of vessel such as an airship or train.
