Trouble At Mill

christmas3_picture

It is Christmas Evev, 1880. Coppleridge Mill is a flour mill run by the Arthur and Max, with the assistance of Arthur's wife, Wendy. Max is rather simple, and is cared for my Arthur and Wendy, despite locals who think he should be sent away for his own good. Naturally, the kind-heated Millers will have none of this, and Max practically worships Wendy as his mother.
It has been raining heavily for weeks. The grain crop has rotted and the Miller's income has suffered as a result. Despite this, Arthur has insisted upon holding the annual Christmas party for friends and family, and he has splashed out to ensure that everybody is well fed and watered.
He hopes that landowner, Squire Unworthy, will continue to be lenient with the rent, although his right-hand-man, Beadle Sabout may have other ideas.
There have been reports of a stranger in the village, a mysterious woman who has been sighted on several occasions over the last week. No-one knows who she is, or where she has come from, but she has been blamed for a number of thefts and is universally mistrusted...
