The region has a fine mix of hotels, castles and open moors, with popular tourist sites such as Dartmoor, The English Riveria, Powderham Castle, The Tarka Trail and The South Devon Railway in close proximity.

The Cedars Inn in Barnstaple will be transported back to Tudor England for a mystery set during the reign of Good Queen Bess.
It is 1566 and wedding celebrations are underway at a splendid manor. Our new bride and groom, however, are distracted by a proposed journey to the New World and a possible visit by the Queen herself. In order to proceed with the planning, he has invited his close friends and a troupe of actors to discuss the celebration over dinner – although it soon becomes apparent that not everyone shares his views on how the event should proceed.
