A Murder Mystery with a wedding theme
This scenario was first performed at Ivel Babarian's Rugby Club on behalf of St Margaret's Somerset Hospice in April 2007. We were asked to provide a scenario that had a wedding/engagement theme and in which the victim was to be played by a St Margaret's supporter. The remainding roles were filled by Murder to Measure regulars.
Synopsis
Helena Ann Basket has been unexpectedly swept off her feet by Luke Whicker, the local nerd. To the surprise of family and friends they announce their intention to marry and plan an engagement party.
Her musical father, Chopin Basket, is not happy with the arrangement, however. He doesn't like Luke and is even less impressed by the proposed best man, Frank O'Pineon. He turns to Helena's best friend, Phyllis Graves, for support, but she is under the thumb of her father, Doug.
As the tensions rise, it becomes clear that both Luke and Frank have interests that have already brought them in close contact with the Basket family, and the result is deadly.
