A children's murder mystery
This scenario was first performed in November 2007 for a school in Chepstow, and incoporated puzzle solving, a scavenger hunt and other activities to uncover the perpetrators of a deadly crime in a school for witches and wizards. A Murder to Measure MC played the role of headmaster to 20+ pupils, with assistance from other staff members to run various activities.
Synopsis
It is a new term at Pigspots Academy for witches and wizards, but headmaster Rufus Mumblemore has some grave news for the latest intake of pupils as they are assigned houses. The master of divination, Professor Forsite, has been found dead in his classroom, the victim of a terrible curse. Fortunately, he predicted his own death and left a number of clues around the school to help identifty the murderer, the method used and the head of the Black Sect. By uncovering the clues the pupils will be able to keep the school and all of magic-kind safe.
By completing classes in Ancient Runes, Care of Magical Creatures, Potions and others, the school children can unlock the mystery and save the day.

This scenario can be adapted for any number of child participants aged from about 7 to 13
Structure
This mystery relies on teams undertaking various tasks to uncover the clues that expose the villain. These can include treasure/scavenger hunts, code breaking, quizzes, identity parades, craft activities, games and puzzles, with the emphasis on fun, although National Curriculum elements can be included if desired.
