The story of Murder to Measure Murder Mysteries

How we began running murder mystery parties in the UK

Our founder, Bryan Hallett, has been involved in many aspects of the theatre for decades, and has built up a reputation as a competent performer, writer and director in many genres. He began performing murder mysteries with Frome Valley Players in 1995 where he played many roles, including murderer, victim and detective. This group specialised in providing scripted scenarios which took several months of rehearsal to prepare, hence when groups requested services at short notice they were often unable to oblige.

When a Yeovil singles group requested a murder mystery event in 2002 FVP had no scenarios ready, so Bryan fulfilled their request with an improvised scenario using group volunteers, and Murder to Measure was born.

Our repertoire has expanded considerably since then, and in addition to scenarios using volunteers we can call upon an ever-expanding group of talented performers to bring murder mysteries to life across the UK.

We appreciate that every customer has differing needs and always tailor our events to the requirements of the hosting group. It doesn't matter if you are planning a large corporate dinner or a fund-raising event in a village hall - in either case you can be assured that we will put considerable effort into assuring that your event is a success. We all love performing, and know that over 2/3 of our bookings are generated from attendees at our past events, so we view every event as a chance to have fun and produce further bookings.

Bryan Hallett is an accomplished and award-winning performer, writer and director with the ability to transform into any character at will. Particularly skilled at making nerds loveable he relishes the challenges that each new engagement brings and spends many hours preparing his scenarios and performance. All of our performers are carefully selected with particular attention to their strengths, and we know you will be impressed by their quick-thinking wit, ability to stay in character and professionalism.
