A team-building murder mystery
This scenario was first performed in September 2007 in Windsor for Kenyon International Emergency Services. We were asked to provide a scenario set aboard an airliner, creating roles suitable for the team and including in-jokes where possible. Roles were played by Kenyon International employees, with guidance by two cabin crew.
Synopsis
The cabin crew aboard SlapAir's flight HO0001 have their work cut out entertaining a motley collection of passengers in the first class lounge. A mystery guest has invited an explorer,a former officer of the law, an undertaker and a forensic archeologist on baord the flight, and he isn't letting on why. Add an obsessive stalker, a mystery man with a rucksack and a bubbly reality TV contestant, and there could be fireworks before the plane leaves the runway.
When the plane's destination becomes clear, there is much dissent and the possibility of passenger revolt... Can Julian and Sandy hold onto their dream of fame and form a Village People tribute act, or will the plane become another statistic?
And much more importantly... chicken or fish?
Participants
12 participants plus 2 cabin crew for the afternoon.
Structure
Staged with Kenyon International performers around a traditional 3 course meal.
Death(s) occurred in full view of the guests.
Complexity
Easy - the aim was to get everyone to play out a role and enjoy the event.
Age rating
12 - contains mild sexual suggestion, but this could easily be eradicated for younger audiences.
