Red In Tooth and Claw
The plans of local landowner, Lord Charles "Chip" Enham, to turn his estate into an animal park are somewhat controversial in the village and during a dinner to outline his ideas many secrets are exposed. Can the animal expert Claude Body help persuade the guests that his large cats will be safe in the grounds, or will local opinion thwart the scheme? Whatever happens, it seems clear that not everyone at the party will escape with their lives.
This story was originally set in Wiltshire and inspired by the experiences of Lord Bath in setting up Longleat, but it can be set anywhere and in most periods, including the 1920s. The murder mystery is usually held over a meal and is suitable mainly for groups where there is a roughly equal mix of sexes.
